Alvaro López García

Research associate at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Professor at Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo, Coordinator of EU HE AI4EOSC and EOSC-SIESTA. 

Alvaro Lopez Garcia, PhD, (ORCID 0000-0002-0Y013-4602) is a CSIC Tenured Scientist (Científico Titular) and head of the Advanced Computing and e-Science Group at the Institute of Physics of Cantabria (IFCA), associated with the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) (IFCA,CSIC-UC). 

His main research interests are focused on the implementation, development and promotion of advanced computing services for science and research, exploiting distributed infrastructures over the computing continuum. Some of the tools, services and platforms that have been developed in this regard are being used in pan-European production e-Infrastructures or are being exploited by end users in the context of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). 

He has participated in more than 20 EU projects (FP7, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe); noteworthy being the project coordinator of the H2020 DEEP-Hybrid-DataCloud and the Horizon Europe AI4EOSC and SIESTA actions, all of them focused on delivering advanced and innovative services for EOSC.
