Harald Schwalbe is Professor of Chemistry at the Goethe University Frankfurt; he leads an experimental research group using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy to study structure of proteins, RNAs, and DNAs at the European NMR infrastructure operating since 1995. His work contributes to develop new medication including antivirals. He has acted as coordinator for several national consortia (DFG-supported CRC on RNA and Cluster of Excellence on Macromolecular Complexes). Since 2022, he is executive director of Instruct-ERIC, the European research infrastructure on integrated Structural Biology joining 16 member states and EMBL as distributed infrastructure offering transnational access for Xray, NMR and cryo-EM. He is author or co-author of over 480 research papers in ISI journals and several patents.
