Jose Benito is the Head of Institutional Repositories at CERN’s IT Department and a member of CERN's Open Science Steering Board (OSSB). He leads the strategic teams behind the CERN’s Research Data Management Platform, InvenioRDM, which underpins critical services such as the CERN Document Server (CERN’s institutional repository), Zenodo, the CERN Open Data Portal, and various long-term preservation projects. Jose is a strong advocate for Open Science, and his contributions include representing CERN at the OpenAIRE AMKE General Assembly, serving as Deputy Delegate for EOSC-A, actively participating in prominent task forces and working groups such as the EOSC Task Force on Scholarly Infrastructures for Research Software, and contributing to advisory groups like Make Data Count, among others. Prior to his current roles, Jose gained extensive experience in managing software projects. For instance, he led and launched one of CERN's most successful open-source projects, the Indico Conference Management System, further establishing his expertise in building robust tools for scientific collaboration and knowledge sharing.
