A blueprint for an integrated European research and technology infrastructure ecosystem
A new position paper emerging from the RTI Summit 2025 highlights the strategic importance of strengthening access to research and technology infrastructures (RIs and TIs) for Europe’s competitiveness.
The summit was held under the Danish EU Presidency and brought together more than 350 stakeholders from across the European research and innovation ecosystem, including policymakers, industry leaders, research organisations and infrastructure representatives.
The position paper outlines five actionable pathways to improve framework conditions and facilitate access for companies to cutting-edge research and technology infrastructures. It also provides guidance for the implementation of key actions under the European Strategy on Research and Technology Infrastructures.
The proposed approach aims to move Europe towards a more integrated, demand-driven infrastructure ecosystem, supporting innovation, resilience and the twin green and digital transitions.
