ESFRI offers condolences over the loss of Professor Harald Bolt
ESFRI Chair Jan Hrusak expressed deepest condolences over the loss of Professor Harald Bolt.
"The untimely passing away of Prof Harald Bolt shocked all of us. Harald has been an excellent scientist, good colleague, and, with his engagement and devotion, an extremely valuable contributor to the work of ESFRI, who helped the construction of a common RI ecosystem. We have lost a great colleague and true friend. On behalf of ESFRI and all the colleagues I would like express our deepest sympathy to his family", Jan stated.
Prof. Harald Bolt was a Member of the Board of Directors at the Research Centre Jülich Teaching since 2008, and he held the position of a Professor of Fac. Mech. Engineering, at the Technical University Munich, since 1999. Over the course of his carreer, he made contributions of great importance in the materials and energy sectors, as coordinator of large research projects and through his involvement in impactful international scientific committees.
Prof. Bolt served as Chair of the ESFRI Strategy Working Group on Energy, and was a a valuable member of the Forum. His passing away is a great loss for ESFRI and for the entire RI community.
