ESFRI–EOSC Policy Workshop to Address Strategic Integration of Research Infrastructures within the EOSC Federation
Milan, Italy | 16–17 March 2026
At a pivotal moment for European research policy, the ESFRI–EOSC Task Force is convening a high-level Policy Workshop on “EOSC and Research Infrastructures: Opportunities and Strategies”.
As the EOSC Federation framework continues to mature, Research Infrastructures (RIs) are emerging as central actors in ensuring sustainability, service excellence and long-term strategic alignment.
The workshop will bring together representatives from ESFRI RIs, the European Commission (DG RTD, DG CNECT), the EOSC Steering Board, the EOSC Association, Federation Candidate Nodes, and leading infrastructure experts.
Key Themes:
- Strategic positioning of RIs within the EOSC Federation
- Governance evolution and coordination
- FAIR data practices supporting reliable AI services
- Integration of RI services into the EOSC portfolio
- Sectoral perspectives from CERN, Life Sciences, Environmental RIs and digital research platforms
The workshop aims to identify concrete pathways for strengthening RI engagement within EOSC and reinforcing Europe’s research infrastructure ecosystem.
This is an invitation-only, in-person workshop organised by the ESFRI–EOSC Task Force with support from the StR-ESFRI3 project. Learn more here.
