Dr. Guðbjörg Andrea Jónsdóttir (London School of Economics and Political Science, Ph.D. Social Psychology) is a Senior Adviser in the Department of Strategy and International Affairs in the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. Previously, she was the Director of the Social Science Research Institute at the University of Iceland, a survey research centre that also runs the Icelandic Social Science Data Service, DATICE. Prior to that she was Research Director with Gallup in Iceland. Her main research areas are methodology and public opinion, in particular context and order effects in social surveys, wording of questions, mode effects and response rate.
Guðbjörg Andrea was the Icelandic representative in the EVS Council of Program Directors from 2011-2023. She was also the National Coordinator for Iceland in the ESS ERIC (European Social Survey) for a few years, and a member of the ISSP (International Social Survey Programme) from 2013-2023.
She is currently the Icelandic delegate in CESSDA ERIC GA, CLARIN ERIC GA, and ESS ERIC GA.
